Jeff Slate, Roy Orbison Jr. and Alex Orbison Team Up For Traveling Wilburys Celebration

Jeff Slate's band of New York City all-star players was joined by Roy's Boys -- Roy Orbison's sons Roy Jr. and Alex -- this Saturday at New Jersey's Fest For Beatles Fans for a rousing tribute to the Traveling Wilburys, in honor of the supergroup's 30th anniversary this year. The set included the Wilburys and solo classics Handle With Care, My Baby, This Is Love, I Won't Back Down, Rattled, Tweeter and the Monkey Man, Last Night, End of the Line, You Got It and Oh, Pretty Woman.

Jeff also joined The Rutles' Neil Innes on his evening set, and capped things off with performances of Day Tripper and Ooby Dooby with Roy's Boys.

A signed copy of The Authorized Roy Orbison, the book Jeff co-authored with Roy Jr., Wesley and Alex Orbison about their late-father, and a singed setlist from their performance were auctioned by the Coalition To Stop Gun Violence, a charity started by the late singer Harry Nilsson in honor of his friend, John Lennon.
